Engineering Project and Planning Manager

Role Overview:

The Engineering Project and Planning Manager is tasked with overseeing the strategic planning and execution of the Annual Maintenance for all attractions within the Resort. This position requires the development of a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure that all preparatory activities are completed within specified timelines and financial constraints, thereby facilitating a successful operational season.

This role is crucial for the timely and efficient execution of the Annual Maintenance schedule, as well as for the ongoing enhancement of maintenance processes. The ability to formulate detailed, budget-conscious project plans is vital, alongside effective delegation and communication with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain a robust communication framework throughout the project delivery phase, ensuring that Area Managers provide regular updates on their progress, execution of plans, and identification of any potential risks or issues.
  • Offer guidance and support to ensure that maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to delays and costs.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to guarantee the timely completion of contracted work, in line with service level agreements and budgetary expectations.
  • Oversee spare parts management, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for during planning and procurement, while considering lead times and budget constraints.
  • Effectively manage labor and resource allocation, adjusting schedules and priorities as necessary to achieve project goals.
  • Supervise maintenance operations throughout the year to ensure optimal uptime of attractions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess work quality, address emerging issues, and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Manage the NOC process for the annual maintenance program.
  • Implement effective risk management strategies to ensure all tasks are coordinated and resources are allocated appropriately, including contingency planning as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries related to annual maintenance planning and escalation.
  • Work closely with the Head of Engineering to ensure that resources, equipment, tools, parts, and facilities are identified and utilized proactively to minimize delays and costs.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the success of the maintenance program, identifying opportunities for improvement such as waste reduction and enhanced operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

Desired Skills:

  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Prince 2, APM, or Lean is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Background in engineering.
