Job Title: Emergency Housing Team Manager

Location: Blackpool

Salary: £32,076 - £33,945 per annum

The Role:

To assist the Emergency Housing Manager in delivering a high-quality customer-oriented Emergency Housing service.

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Housing Service.
  2. Work on the frontline to provide cover as needed, including ad-hoc weekend and bank holiday duties.
  3. Provide support, guidance, coaching, advice, and instruction to staff as necessary.
  4. Assist in recruiting, inducting, training, and developing new staff.
  5. Conduct effective supervisions and IPA's with staff at required frequencies.
  6. Monitor buildings, including Health and Safety, quality checks of Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
  7. Ensure team members comply with current legislation.
  8. Conduct risk assessments, including Emergency Housing referrals and personal risk assessments.
  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Emergency Housing Team Plans and Corporate Delivery Plan.
  10. Monitor and evaluate the Emergency Housing Performance Indicators, Service Standards, and Local Offers.
  11. Take an active role in personal and professional development.
  12. Respond to enquiries and complaints within required timescales.
  13. Maintain knowledge of legislation and guidance relevant to Emergency Housing.
  14. Assist with customer involvement activities, including Emergency Housing Residents Groups and Satisfaction surveys.
  15. Oversee rent collection and minimise arrears.
  16. Enforce conditions of the Emergency Housing licence agreement.
  17. Monitor contractors' work to ensure a consistently high standard.
  18. Develop links with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  19. Ensure Emergency Housing resources are used appropriately.
  20. Liaise with operational Housing Management staff.
  21. Work with other providers of emergency housing services to share good practice.
  22. Foster excellent working arrangements with relevant departments.
  23. Provide accurate and up-to-date reports to the Emergency Housing Manager.
  24. Represent BCH at relevant meetings and forums.
  25. Display a commitment to equality of opportunity and dignity at work.
  26. Promote the independence of customers while protecting them from danger or harm.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including Math's and English at grade C or above.
  2. Significant experience of dealing with tenants in a social housing environment.
