Are you a seasoned Construction Manager looking for a new opportunity in the nuclear sector? If you possess a relevant engineering degree and have a robust understanding of civil engineering, along with experience in overseeing intricate infrastructure construction projects, this role may be ideal for you.
About the Role
Our client is currently seeking a Construction Manager to oversee tier 1 contractors and ensure effective site supervision on a daily basis. This role is pivotal in coordinating logistics, planning, and project execution seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
1. Defining and managing work scopes within the Site Delivery Teams.
2. Securing and managing resources while upholding SQEP standards and addressing personnel matters.
3. Developing and implementing efficient execution strategies in line with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
4. Maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant contract delivery, adhering to the highest quality standards.
5. Anticipating, managing, and resolving project challenges, including risk management and budget adjustments.
6. Ensuring consistency in project timelines and deliverables, while reviewing contractors' payment applications.
7. Promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
8. Leading and managing the performance of your direct team, ensuring completion of all mandatory training.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering construction, particularly in large and complex infrastructure projects within regulated environments.
- A proven track record of engaging and managing stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and other advisors effectively.
- Strong communication and management skills, encompassing construction management, project management, financial oversight, change management, and facilitation.
- Experience in groundworks, earthworks, and management.
- Proficiency in cost control, risk management, site health and safety auditing, schedule management, and earned value analysis tools.
- Exceptional organizational and team leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, IT, and facilitation skills.
- An SMSTS certificate along with a Site Supervisor or Site Manager SCSC card is essential.
