Nurse Practitioner

South Shore Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Graduate Nurse, you will be responsible for providing individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through the use of the nursing process. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, provide education and support to patients and families, and promote a culture of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration
- Administer medications safely and accurately, following hospital policies and procedures.
- Complete medication reconciliation and verify patient identification.
- Document medication administration and any discrepancies.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, prioritizing patient needs and goals.
- Document patient care and outcomes, using standardized nursing terminology.
- Assess and reassess patient needs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Foster a culture of safety, reporting any concerns or near misses.
- Verify patient identification and use two identifiers prior to administering care or medications.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures for hand hygiene, infection control, and patient safety.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development, staying current with best practices and evidence-based care.
- Seek feedback and opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Utilize electronic medical records and other technology to support patient care and communication.
- Access and utilize hospital resources, including learning management systems and email.
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Protect patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records.
- Provide patient-centered care, respecting patient preferences and values.
- Engage patients and families in care planning and decision-making.
- Provide care that is sensitive to the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Use cultural competence to promote patient-centered care.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Previous Acute Care RN experience preferred. RN - Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Emergency Response Training Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification may be required.
