Job Description

Job Title: RF Test Engineer

Salary: up to £60,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Location: Cheltenham

A leading aerospace company is seeking an experienced RF Test Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Electronics Sustainment team, you will be responsible for providing production test support for a variety of RF and electronic products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Electronics Sustainment Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of RF and electronic products.
  • You will be required to confidently use a variety of laboratory equipment, including Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, VNAs, and Signal Generators.
  • You will be responsible for evaluating legacy test methods and deriving and validating new methods that use up-to-date equipment.
  • You will use your knowledge and expertise to evaluate the suitability of existing test equipment calibration methods and suggest improvements.
  • You will support the Project Management Office in introducing new product lines and ensuring their successful integration into the production process.
  • Some overseas travel may be required on occasion.

About You:

  • You will have experience in evaluating S-Parameters, Power, Leakage/ Isolation, Noise, and Losses in RF systems and components such as Transmitters, Receivers, Mixers, Downconverters, Filters, and Amplifiers.
  • You will be able to read circuit diagrams and product performance specifications and confidently translate these requirements to Test Specifications.
  • You will be able to troubleshoot or evaluate the performance of RF cables, splitters, attenuators, loads for correct performance within the test equipment setup.
