Plant Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant Supervisor to join our Readymix RMX team at our Newark RMX Tarmac site in Nottinghamshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading the RMX operations, ensuring safety and operational standards are met, and driving performance improvement.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and be accountable for the RMX operations on our small Readymix / RMX plant.
- Ensure safety and operational standards are met, with a focus on cost control, people management, and delivery to customer needs.
- Manage plant compliance with business policies and procedures, and ensure legislative compliance.
- Lead and active supervise the RMX operational plant, including delivery of toolbox talks to contractors.
- Manage all aspects of daily production, including operational costs and control stocks.
- Drive operational performance through KPIs, and timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector.
- Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard, and batch concrete to meet customer needs while meeting internal quality requirements.
- Responsible for the budget in relation to the plants they are responsible for, including both fixed and variable costs.
You will liaise with the following key stakeholders in the responsibilities of this role:
- Business Manager
- Area Director
- Health & Safety team
- Procurement and support teams
- National Logistics team
- Area Operations teams
- Area Commercial teams
- Area HR Manager
- Industry Bodies Customers
To be successful in this role, you will have experience and knowledge of:
- Plant operations, with experience in a Readymix / Aggregates environment highly beneficial.
- Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems.
- Working knowledge of production processes, H&S and Environmental policies.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification, or equivalent.
- NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations, or equivalent.
