Job Title: Lead Teacher of English

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Teacher of English to join our team at Barton Moss Secure Care Centre. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the English department and delivering high-quality education to our students.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and learning, particularly in the SEN/AP sector. They will have excellent subject knowledge and be able to inspire students to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be flexible, an effective team player, and have effective interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the English department and develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Deliver high-quality education to students, including those with special educational needs
  • Assess and report student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective education program
  • Contribute to the development of the centre's education policy and procedures
