Job Description

Job Title: Principal Data Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Analyst to join our team at IQ Talent Solutions. As a Principal Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting the Lead Asset Manager to develop and deliver data strategies that drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of data collection and cleaning strategies to ensure accurate and up-to-date data.
  • Work with colleagues across the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) Capital Programme to identify emerging and changing requirements and forecast future planning.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of processes and design to ensure all stock condition data is accurate and updated.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the Asset Management Team.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data usage and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize Microsoft technologies, including Excel and PowerBI, to deliver timely and high-quality reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Implement data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with data management.
  • Support the Lead Asset Manager in delivering relevant data tooling that aligns with the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Contribute to the administration and configuration of the Data System to ensure data models are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Deliver advances to improve efficiencies and reduce dependencies on individuals across the Housing Capital Programme.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to stakeholders to enable them to leverage data and reporting assets.
  • Use data to predict demand, flag issues, identify solutions, and contribute to the delivery of actions to resolve them.

Requirements:

  • Understanding and application of statistical techniques.
  • Understanding and application of research methodology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of building and structuring detailed performance reports using IT systems.
  • Experience of collating data, analysis, and using performance management systems to inform service re-design and improvement.
  • Experience of leading on complex technical data issues, including research, policy development, and legislation or service changes.
  • Experience of working with senior managers to identify business requirements for automated business intelligence reporting.
  • Experience of using Keystone, Northgate, ServiceConnect, or similar systems.
  • Specialist knowledge of building reports using Power BI and publishing & managing apps/workspaces in the Power BI Service.
  • Experience of working accurately with attention to detail and producing clear, accurate written reports on time.
  • Experience of presenting performance management data in accessible ways using different formats to a varied audience.
  • Experience of processing and storing data securely and sharing information in accordance with the data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Understanding and experience of delivering the Equality Act and the Public Sector Equality Duty, together with writing Equality Impact Assessments.
  • Experience of prioritizing work to meet deadlines, demonstrating high-level interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with all levels of staff across the organization and externally, and as part of a team.
