We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to join our dynamic DT department at Principal Education.
This is a key role supporting the delivery of a broad curriculum across various specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Textiles.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing, setting up, and maintaining equipment and materials for DT lessons.
- Assisting teaching staff with practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students.
- Ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines are followed within the DT department, including regular safety checks and risk assessments.
- Managing and maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring the DT workshop is kept clean and organized.
- Assisting in the creation of teaching resources and displays within the department.
- Supporting students with the use of machinery and tools, ensuring they operate them safely.
- Providing technical assistance during extra-curricular activities and school events as required.
- Previous experience as a DT Technician or similar role within a school environment is desirable.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, particularly within a workshop environment.
- Proficiency in using and maintaining a range of tools and machinery, including CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both staff and students.
- A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
