Our client is a prominent UK firm specializing in construction, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out services, delivering projects across various sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, justice, defense, aviation, water management, and environmental services. They are currently in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the company's resources to ensure successful project outcomes, focusing on technical, commercial, safety, and client satisfaction aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in tender interviews as necessary
  • Support the pre-construction and design phases during tender processes
  • Attend project handover meetings
  • Prepare and submit technical documentation in the required format
  • Review and qualify subcontractor quotations with the commercial team to ensure compliance with specifications and value
  • Plan and manage labor resources on assigned projects, including subcontractors and agency personnel
  • Assist in developing project schedules
  • Continuously monitor project progress against established timelines, providing regular updates in the company format
  • Attend site meetings as required by contractual obligations
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Facilitate communication between clients, main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Develop and maintain the company quality manual for each project
  • Ensure adherence to company quality assurance procedures, including regular inspections and audits
  • Comply with all relevant statutory and industry regulations
  • Address any defects identified in current and past projects promptly
  • Compile health and safety documentation for each project
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and company-specific health and safety requirements on-site
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, providing necessary information to project surveyors
  • Prepare operation and maintenance manuals in the required format
  • Complete subcontractor and supplier evaluation forms upon project completion
  • Support project supervisors in all aspects of site management
  • Mentor and oversee the development of company apprentices assigned to the project
  • Participate in engineering meetings
  • Engage in business development activities as needed
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific safety regulations and practices, including SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely certifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Asta PowerProject, Microsoft Project, and common data environments
  • Experience managing complex projects simultaneously
  • Relevant technical qualifications and expertise
