Position Overview: Co-Founder in Pharmaceutical Innovation
We are seeking visionary individuals with a blend of technical and commercial expertise who are passionate about establishing and scaling a transformative, impact-driven enterprise in the realm of therapeutics for Parkinson's disease.
As a potential co-founder, you will collaborate closely with the DSV team and the current Founder in Residence to create and launch a new venture focused on groundbreaking treatments for Parkinson's. Upon incorporation, you and your fellow co-founders will hold a significant equity stake in the company, with ongoing support from DSV.
The Challenge: Addressing Parkinson's Disease
With over 6 million individuals affected by Parkinson's globally, this number is expected to double by 2040. Current therapies provide symptomatic relief but do not address the underlying causes of the disease, allowing progression to continue unchecked. Many promising therapeutic candidates fail to deliver in clinical trials, highlighting the need for innovative approaches.
In partnership with Parkinson's UK, we aim to develop precise, next-generation therapies that target critical disease-modifying pathways. By addressing the multifaceted nature of Parkinson's, we aspire to create solutions that can alter the disease trajectory, potentially improving the quality of life for millions.
Our Strategy
We are in the process of constructing an outcomes graph, which will guide our development of curative therapies for Parkinson's by focusing on desired outcomes.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will likely possess several of the following qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent experience in neuroscience or a related discipline;
- Comprehensive understanding of advanced technologies and challenges in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's;
- Extensive knowledge of therapeutic development within the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors;
- Industry-specific expertise, including commercial insights and a robust network within the pharmaceutical landscape;
- Experience in biotech, with a track record of developing and scaling innovative technologies;
- Proven ability to secure funding from early-stage investors or venture capital;
- Leadership experience in building and scaling high-growth organizations.
By becoming part of DSV, you will join a team of experienced operators who have successfully founded companies and advanced scientific translation at leading institutions. Our offerings include:

- Investment of up to £250k to establish the new venture and develop initial proof-of-concept data;
- Guaranteed monthly income of £4,166 as a consultancy fee until the company is operational and pre-seed funding is secured;
- Majority equity stake in the new venture for you and your co-founders;
- Ongoing support post-spinout, including assistance with fundraising, commercial partnerships, and team development;
- Collaborative engagement with numerous Founders currently associated with DSV across various sectors.
