We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused dispensing service to all patients of the Trust.
Main Responsibilities:- Act as a senior pharmacy technician in the dispensary, supervising the day-to-day organisation of dispensing activities, prioritising work, staff management, and training.
- Train and supervise staff when working in the dispensary.
- Act as an ACPT (checking pharmacy technician) to provide a final-accuracy check of dispensed prescriptions.
- Act as a Practice Supervisor for the HEE pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians on rotation in the dispensary.
- Identify daily and regular tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the dispensary.
- Support and participate in all dispensary activities.
- Supervise the stock control in the dispensary by overseeing the daily order process, including sundries, returns, and expired stock.
- Participate in Saturday, late, and Bank Holiday rotas at St Charles hospital.
- Ensure that dispensary staff respond to the needs of all on-site and off-site services.
- Liaise with other senior pharmacy technicians to organise the staffing resource.
- Assist in the induction training of all new staff and help train dispensary staff in the routine use of the pharmacy IT system (Ascribe).
- Act as a Practice Supervisor for the HEE pre-registration pharmacy technicians on rotation in the dispensary.
- Participate in trust or regional study days/training schemes where appropriate.
- Collate information for month-end KPI reporting, including CD audit reporting, in the absence of the dispensary manager.
- Participate in training schemes, including those run by HEELASE and Central and North West London, as assigned by the Associate Chief Pharmacist Operations.
- Work towards an agreed personal development plan based on the annual performance.
- BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
- Final Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
