Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
GCS Associates is a prominent player in the construction supply industry, seeking a dedicated and skilled Procurement Specialist to enhance our procurement team.
The ideal candidate will take charge of sourcing and acquiring materials, components, and services essential for the manufacturing operations, ensuring that all procurement efforts align with the strategic goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal terms and conditions.
2. Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with suppliers to guarantee reliability and quality of supply.
3. Engage in travel across the UK to liaise with suppliers and ensure adherence to company standards.
4. Conduct regular supplier visits, with occasional travel to Belgium (once per quarter).
5. Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier landscapes to maintain competitive advantage.
6. Oversee inventory levels to maximize stock efficiency and minimize waste.
7. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to anticipate and plan procurement needs.
8. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
1. CIPS qualified - Level 3
2. Demonstrated experience as a Buyer or in a comparable procurement role.
3. Strong negotiation and communication capabilities.
4. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
5. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Willingness to travel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
1. Experience as a Buyer within the manufacturing sector, particularly with insulation materials.
2. Understanding of international procurement processes and regulations.
