Job Overview

The Goods In Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inbound logistics team, ensuring that productivity and service key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met or surpassed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the shift team to achieve high levels of productivity and service.
  • Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Hygiene to comply with legislative and quality requirements, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and stored appropriately.
  • Conduct communication briefings to keep all team members informed about company and local matters, encouraging their input and engagement.
  • Oversee the Goods Inwards area to guarantee prompt and safe receipt of goods, ensuring stock availability for order fulfillment.
  • Foster the development of team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse and facilitate succession planning.
  • Conduct disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor and manage sickness absence levels in line with company policy, conducting return-to-work interviews effectively.
  • Oversee the time and attendance system to ensure accurate records.
  • Manage overtime and agency worker levels to ensure efficient and cost-effective shift operations.
  • Enforce adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Training and Safety Management

Ensure appropriate training for team members, maintaining adequate Health & Safety representation on shift, including First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Adaptable and methodical in approach to work, training, and scheduling.
  • Reliable and conscientious in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills for delivering precise information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effective prioritization of workload to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor, approachable, and supportive to ensure smooth operations.
