About the Role

The Data Centre team at PRS designs and operates sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems. As a Data Centre Facilities Technician, you will operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for the Data Centre team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Operation: Perform routine maintenance and repairs to control systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • System Control: Control heating, cooling, and humidification systems to precise tolerances, ensuring a stable and comfortable environment.
  • System Improvements: Identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements, recommending solutions to enhance overall data centre efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and record M&E systems data, evaluating operational costs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Emergency Response: Manage data centre performance issues and outages, minimizing recovery time from failures.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Electrical or Electronic Apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds or BTEC qualifications.
  • BMS System Training: Training in BMS systems, including Honeywell, Trend, Satchwell, etc.
  • Industrial Controls Experience: Experience with industrial controls, including SCADA, PLC experience.
  • Hands-on Experience: 2 years of hands-on controls maintenance experience in industrial or commercial environments.
Preferred Experience
  • Control Systems Maintenance: Experience in maintaining and repairing control systems, including commercial BMS and industrial SCADA PLCs.
  • Critical Engineering Environment: Experience working in critical engineering environments, such as data centres, hospitals, pharmaceutical, power plants, manufacturing, production, heavy industrial, or EX forces.
  • Electrical Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of electrical systems, including low, medium, high voltage, and power backup systems.
  • Temperature and Humidity Control: Knowledge of close control of temperature and humidity within close tolerances.
  • Front-end Operation and Maintenance: Experience with front-end operation and hardware maintenance and repairs, including temperature sensors, humidity stats, dampers, 3&4 port valves, etc.
