Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Learning:
- Deliver high-quality instruction on Health and Social Care, ensuring students receive a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
- Assess, review, and record learner progress in the workplace, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Provide personalized guidance and support as a tutor to help students achieve their best, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Engage in the administrative aspects of the teaching role, including planning and preparation, to ensure the smooth delivery of the course.
- Foster a positive learning environment and contribute to curriculum development, ensuring the course remains relevant and engaging for students.
Student Support:
- Interview students and participate in enrolment, open days, marketing events, parents' evenings, and program inductions, providing a warm welcome to new students.
- Serve as a Course Tutor for at least one group of students, meeting regularly to discuss academic progress and support progression choices.
- Address students not meeting required standards through formal interventions in line with College procedures, providing additional support to help students get back on track.
- Identify students requiring extra support and refer them to Additional Learner Support, planning for inclusive class delivery aligned with EHCP and support plans.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in Health and Social Care, excellent teaching and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues.
