Job Title: Strategic Network Delivery Manager

Join Southern Water as a Strategic Network Delivery Manager and take on a key role in leading the company's large asset maintenance and improvement efforts across its regions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the company's water network and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to over 2.6 million customers.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for managing a team of experts in water network management, including field-based inspectors, engineers, and office-based project managers. You will work closely with senior leaders in asset management and capital delivery teams to implement a step-change in cost, quality, and time.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building a technical excellence team to manage project delivery of key ODI-linked schemes.
  • Balancing demands and expectations of team, people, resources, compliance, efficiency, quality of the asset, and demands from other parts of the business.
  • Making urgent decisions using your judgement, knowledge, and experience.
  • Managing change effectively and engaging with staff to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Implementing and sharing best practice findings within Southern Water and assessing performance against other businesses.
  • Working with Asset Management to ensure the right capex and opex asset improvement plans are in place.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, British Standards Institute, and Drinking Water Inspectorate.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have significant technical expertise in water networks management within the water industry, strong knowledge of network processes, and good exposure of delivering programmes within the cost, time, and quality. Commercial acumen and good understanding of financial management are also essential. You will be a great leader, empowering your team to lead a key capital investment which forms a major part of Southern Water's infrastructure.

This role requires you to be part of our Out of Hours incident management rota on a standby, 1 week every 8 weeks, managing the water network incident.
