A.J. and R.G Limited is a prestigious family-owned cheese manufacturer, renowned for our exceptional quality dairy products. Our legacy dates back to 1833, and we take pride in producing award-winning cheeses.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Level 1 Production and Process Operative to join our dedicated cheese-making team. While experience in automated food production is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills in cheesemaking and dairy processing.

This role operates on a double day shift schedule, which includes a 7.5% shift premium in addition to the base hourly wage. The working hours are structured over a five-day week, alternating between early and late shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine manual handling tasks with precision and care.
  • Bagging, sealing, and inspecting cheese products for quality assurance.
  • Collecting and analyzing product samples to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Safely operating and monitoring production machinery.
  • Engaging in manual handling tasks, including stacking products and packing them for distribution.
  • Utilizing both computer and paper-based systems to accurately log operational data.
  • Adhering to all company policies, including health and safety regulations.
  • Completing any additional tasks as required to support business operations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage of £12.05, increasing to £12.95 with shift allowance for a standard 40-hour week.
  • Annual salary of £26,936, inclusive of shift premium.
