Position Overview

Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Role Summary:

Cogito is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for guiding the Manufacturing Engineering teams on a daily basis. Collaboration with various Manufacturing Engineering sectors will be essential to ensure the seamless incorporation of new processes, testing protocols, or products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production assistance for the printer, ensuring timely shipment of machines that meet quality standards, while prioritizing support allocation.
  • Ensure that all production documentation (ProWorks) is generated and maintained as necessary, guaranteeing that products are manufactured to the required quality throughout the build process.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to facilitate the development and implementation of testing and verification equipment within the manufacturing workflow, both domestically and internationally.
  • Engage with engineers throughout the design phase, actively participating in design reviews, project planning, and advising on BOM structures, DFMA techniques, and other critical areas to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
  • Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate the outcomes to all members of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Ensure prompt action on all design modifications, facilitating a smooth integration into production whenever feasible.

Candidate Profile:

  • BSc in a relevant field.
  • HND qualified or actively pursuing a similar engineering or manufacturing engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience in managing and executing complex projects, demonstrating strong cross-disciplinary communication skills, contributing to effective decision-making, and taking ownership of challenges.
  • Solid understanding of contemporary manufacturing techniques, including machining/fabrication methods and electro-mechanical assembly processes.
  • Proficient in NX or other 3D CAD/CAE tools utilized in Electrical/Mechanical environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies (6 Sigma/DMAIC) is desirable.
  • Experience with 3D printing technologies is a plus.
