The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Attorney General to join its Health Law Unit, Civil Division. As a key member of the team, you will provide general counsel duties for the Delaware Psychiatric Center, Adult Protective Services, the Long-Term Care Ombudsperson, and the Delaware Nursing Home Resident Quality Assurance Commission.
Key Responsibilities:- Represent the Department of Health and Social Services in guardianship hearings filed on behalf of State agencies.
- Provide legal advice and representation in Weapons Relinquishment and Lethal Violence Protection hearings.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legislation and regulations, procurement law compliance, and contracts.
- Ensure Freedom of Information Act compliance and draft Attorney General Opinions.
- Represent the State of Delaware in court and administrative proceedings.
- Proficiency in health law and prior litigation and general counsel experience.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and court rules.
- Membership in the Delaware Bar.
