This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work in a dynamic and growing consultancy, developing their skills and expertise in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology, excellent report writing skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting ecological surveys, including phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species scoping surveys
  • Producing comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals and ecological impact assessments
  • Liaising with clients and statutory consultees
  • Attending client and site meetings
  • Undertaking ECoW role where required

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in ecology or a related field
  • Significant professional report writing experience
  • Good knowledge of ecological legislation and regulations
  • Experience of phase 1 habitat surveys
  • Technically competent
  • Ability to produce high-quality reports and work to deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK, with occasional overnight stays
  • Full driving license and own transport

Desirable Criteria:

  • CIEEM accreditation
  • Postgraduate experience in ecology surveys
  • Ornithology experience
  • Bat survey experience
  • GWDTE experience
  • Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS or similar
  • Other protected species survey experience
