About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Field Development Engineer to join our team at Petroplan. As a key member of our Field Development group, you will play a critical role in managing and collaborating across projects of varying complexity, cost, and stakeholders throughout the Low Carbon Oil & Gas and Energy Transition space.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Solutions: Define the systems and solutions for our clients' future Low Carbon Oil & Gas and Energy Transition portfolio in conjunction with our strategy team.
  2. Optimize Project Delivery: Deliver optimal solutions that reduce project costs and delivery uncertainty across the full Asset or System lifecycle, coordinating input from Central Engineering Discipline Teams, Products & Technology, and Projects and Operations.
  3. Technical and Economic Studies: Deliver technical and economic studies related to SURF, energy transition, and decarbonisation, including system design, optimisation, and economics.
  4. Market Analysis and Business Development: Understand market needs and drivers for demand accelerating the development of business cases for new solutions.
  5. Digital Strategy and Front-End Planning: Support the development of our digital strategy for the early lifecycle phase through the development of our Front-End Planning tools.
Requirements
  1. Proven Experience: You should have proven SURF Field Development & Operations Experience working to a similar level.
  2. Client or Consultant Background: Demonstrate a background in client or consultant roles supporting early-stage field development and operations support activity.
  3. Energy Transition Knowledge: Knowledge of Energy Transition solutions including CCUS, Hydrogen, and Renewables (Floating Wind).
  4. Relevant Qualifications: You should be degree qualified in a relevant discipline related to the subsea engineering environment.
  5. Study and Analysis Skills: Delivery of feasibility, conceptual studies, Pre-FEED & FEED SURF and Energy Transition Studies.
  6. Capital Value Process and Budgeting: Understanding of customers' Capital Value process, Capital Budgeting & Field Development value drivers.
  7. Collaboration and Teamwork: Able to collaborate with and support Sales, Business Development, Strategy, and Technology teams.
