We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team at Davies. As a Disease Claims Handler, you will play a crucial role in handling allocated claims from the desk or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with Insurers, Policyholders, and Brokers to ensure seamless communication and resolution.
- Investigate allocated claims, obtaining necessary evidence and documentation to determine appropriate actions for resolution.
- Prepare detailed reports, providing advice on policy indemnity, policy response, and recommendations.
- Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
- Correspond with all parties professionally to progress cases to conclusion.
- Handle cases in accordance with client requirements, adhering to documented procedures.
- Maintain proper reserves by regular review, ensuring accurate financial management.
- Stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role, participating in training programs as needed.
- Experience handling Disease Claims, with a strong understanding of policy wording and insurance market principles.
- Knowledge of legal principles, regulations, and Acts related to disease claims.
- Ability to value disease claims, with a solid understanding of reserving philosophies.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
