About the Role

As a Senior Quality Engineer at ROQ Ltd., you will be responsible for leading test preparation, including specification, and subsequent execution and reporting for assigned areas of functionality. You will support the Lead Quality Engineer in the initial planning for the test phase.

The Senior Quality Engineer will ensure that best practices are followed in testing activities and that the necessary rigor required is applied in all aspects of the testing in their assigned area. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will provide support, help, and guidance to more junior colleagues working with you. You will support the wider team by thinking innovatively about how best to test the solution and what may be required to facilitate testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work across all key test phases
  • To review program/project documentation that will form the test basis and provide appropriate feedback to strengthen these documents (static testing)
  • To lead test specification activity for the allocated areas of functionality, providing support, help, and guidance to peers and more junior colleagues
  • Drive out test conditions from key documents that form the test basis (seeking clarification where necessary), identify and design test scenarios, test data, and test cases to cover these
  • Supporting execution for all testing phases, including UAT and Live Proving
  • Provide leadership, feedback, mentoring, and coaching to other analysts as required
  • Ensure test artefacts produced are reviewed appropriately
  • To triage, monitor, and report defects
  • To provide accurate reporting against progress for the allocated areas of functionality or test phases
  • To support ROQ QE Ecosystem, QE Principles, and our values across the business and externally.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the company
Requirements

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Quality Engineer who has a keen interest in software testing and the testing community.

The ideal candidate will have a strong level of practical exposure to industry-leading testing tools and the ability to exploit further tools as required.

The candidate will also have the skills to specify the test data required for the areas of functionality allocated and secure/prepare elements of this data where necessary.

We are looking for someone who can work across multiple projects and manage the workload effectively in order to meet deadlines.

The candidate will have experience of working in waterfall, agile, and hybrid/custom testing environments.

We are also looking for someone who has relationship building skills to work closely with Business Analysts, technical resources, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure test preparation is appropriate and gives desired coverage.

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading testing teams, agile training or certification, experience of test automation including building automation frameworks, Postman knowledge, and SQL knowledge.
