Job Summary:
Chelmsford City Council is seeking an experienced Event Duty Manager to join our Operations and Visitor Experience team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of events at Hylands House & Grand Pavilion, ensuring the safety of the building and its occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the setup and execution of events, including supervising a team of Event Assistants and coordinating with contractors.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a consistently high standard of service to visitors.
- Manage the licensed bars during functions and deal with customer queries.
- Complete and maintain accurate records, including event planning and execution.
- Work closely with the Operations and Visitor Experience team to ensure seamless event execution.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar supervisory/management role, preferably in a venue or events management setting.
- Excellent communication, customer care, and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
