Position Overview

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Quality Improvement in overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Enhancement, Clinical Evaluation, and Effectiveness initiatives throughout the organization. This includes managing the Quality Enhancement Program, National and Local Clinical Evaluations, and adherence to NICE guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will play a pivotal role in fostering a proactive and innovative environment that promotes a culture of continuous improvement, integrating Effectiveness and Quality Enhancement. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing audit initiatives in collaboration with healthcare professionals, ensuring methodologies are appropriate for achieving project goals.
  • Developing and reporting on the annual clinical evaluation strategy, making necessary adjustments to ensure effectiveness and addressing any arising issues.
  • Leading the design and management of evidence-based audits across the organization.
  • Facilitating criterion-based evaluations to monitor compliance with CQC outcomes and NICE standards.
  • Managing the progress of quality enhancement and audit initiatives, ensuring timely completion of design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • Following up on quality enhancement and audit projects, encouraging teams to create action plans, implement changes, and conduct re-evaluations.
  • Promoting the dissemination of quality enhancement and audit findings within and outside the organization through reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Actively participating in the development and advancement of quality enhancement and annual audit programs across all service areas.
  • Supporting the creation of Quality Management Systems and tools for quality enhancement and audit methodologies, including the maintenance of a continuous improvement dashboard.
  • Encouraging the establishment of robust audit programs that align with the organization's Clinical Audit Policy.
  • Identifying training needs related to quality enhancement and clinical evaluation, designing and delivering specialized training materials.
  • Contributing to clinical evaluation presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials as necessary.
  • Staying informed about healthcare developments relevant to audit and ensuring dissemination of pertinent information across service areas.
  • Assisting the Head of Quality Improvement in fulfilling contractual obligations related to quality standards.
  • Managing the implementation of NICE guidance from initiation to completion, collaborating with various disciplines.
  • Providing leadership and support to the Continuous Improvement team members as required.
  • Participating in project teams and committees as necessary.
  • Engaging in quality enhancement, audit, and effectiveness meetings within designated service areas.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and training sessions as requested to support departmental objectives.
  • Serving as the primary contact for quality enhancement, clinical evaluation, and effectiveness in the absence of the Head of Quality Improvement, and undertaking additional duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

  • Managing and overseeing the performance of improvement facilitators, including conducting performance reviews and managing staff development.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of audit or a related field at a postgraduate level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in project and change management.
  • Qualifications in LEAN, Six-Sigma, MFI, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
