Job Overview: Skilled Production Operative

Location: Derby, UK

Compensation: £12.65/hour

Team Overview:

This position is pivotal in managing a segment of the production workflow during shifts, ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer expectations are fully met and timely addressed. Collaboration with various departments is essential to achieve production goals while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, food safety, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in basic troubleshooting activities and escalate issues to the Beginning/End of Line (BOL/EOL) Team Leader as necessary.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with the CILT standard within BOL/EOL tasks.
  • Assist the BOL/EOL Team Leader in maintaining machine uptime in alignment with KPIs.
  • Participate in downtime reduction initiatives and other ad hoc projects as required.
  • Ensure machine settings and basic operational conditions are maintained, reporting any discrepancies to the Engineering Department.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization within the production area, including workstations, storage spaces, and equipment.
  • Engage in additional projects as necessary.
  • Monitor the production line, identifying and resolving issues to sustain continuous flow and meet production objectives.

Candidate Profile:

● Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or distribution center setting.
● Practical knowledge and expertise in an operational environment.
● Competence in utilizing computer software and systems.
● Strong prioritization abilities and multitasking skills.
● Solid understanding of warehouse and production environments.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively leading and motivating a diverse team.
● Problem-solving capabilities and decision-making skills in a fast-paced production context.
● Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
