Job Overview

This role is a key part of our estates team, working to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities and maintenance services. As a Mechanical Trades Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the management and implementation of our planned engineering and building maintenance programmes.

Main Duties

  • Work in accordance with relevant standards, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prioritize work requirements to ensure the timely completion of essential tasks and minimize disruptions to patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and review of our estates plans, working closely with other team members to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Assist with the setup and implementation of safe systems of work, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance works, liaising with users and contractors as needed.
  • Supervise maintenance assistants and contractors, allocating tasks and ensuring the quality of workmanship.
  • Liaise with the estates helpdesk to respond to emergency works and service complaints.
  • Act on initiative and advise senior staff of technical issues and implications.
