Job Title: Group Head of Technical


About the Role


We are seeking an experienced technical professional to lead our multi-site technical department. As Group Head of Technical, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technical strategies that drive business growth and improve quality.


Key Responsibilities


  • Technical Leadership
    • Lead the technical team across the business estate, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
    • Develop and implement technical strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Quality and Food Safety
    • Develop and maintain a culture of quality and food safety across the business.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer standards.
  • Process Optimization
    • Optimize technical processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Develop and implement process improvements that drive business growth.
  • Customer Relationships
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their technical needs are met.
    • Provide technical support to customers to ensure their products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Team Development
    • Develop and lead a high-performing technical team.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure team members have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.


Requirements


  • Education
    • MSc in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Proven senior leadership experience in a technical management role within the chilled food industry for 5+ years.
  • Skills
    • Knowledge of HACCP (Level 4 minimum), BRC, and other food safety management systems including customer (retailer) standards.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
