This is an exciting opportunity for a person-centred and flexible Personal Assistant to join our team in York. As a Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to a visually impaired individual with memory issues.

The successful candidate will be required to work every Wednesday (10am - 4pm) with flexibility to do more days welcomed. The hourly rate is £12.50 with 5.6 weeks paid holiday pro rata and an annual increment every April.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, committed, and cheerful individual with a great sense of humour. They will be confident to accompany the individual to hospital appointments, liaise with healthcare professionals, and take detailed notes.

The tasks will include accompanying the individual on walks, hospital appointments, advocating on their behalf, and assisting with light housework, cooking, and gardening. The successful candidate will have had or be willing to have their Covid-19 vaccinations and undergo a DBS check.

This post is subject to a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 - 4.

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K. at the time of starting their employment.
