Medical & Dental: Specialist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Consultant in Oral Medicine to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Undertake outpatient clinics, providing specialist care for adults and children with a range of oral medicine conditions.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with dental and medical colleagues in other specialties, participating in regular clinical meetings and postgraduate activities.
- Communicate effectively with General dental practitioners, colleagues in the salaried dental services, and local orthodontic specialist practitioners.
- Ensure good clinical practice, data protection, and continued professional development.
- Supervise Specialist Registrars, DCTs, and therapists, and participate in teaching medical and dental students, dental DCTs, FY2s, StRs, OMFS trainees, and courses for General Dental Practitioners.
- Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC) on the specialist list in Oral Medicine or within six months of being admitted to the list.
- Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination (ISFE) in Oral Medicine or equivalent.
- Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Oral Medicine or within six months of interview.
- Successful completion of an SAC-approved training programme in Oral Medicine or within six months of completion at the time of interview.
- Experience in the multidisciplinary management of Oral Medicine patients, including those on systemic therapies for oromucosal conditions.
- Experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, including supervising undergraduates, dental core trainees, StRs, and postgraduates.
- Demonstrates clarity in written and spoken communication, capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation, and ability to work in multiprofessional teams and supervise junior medical staff.
- Demonstrates commitment to an equal, diverse, and truly inclusive environment and experience for patients, trainees, students, and colleagues.
- Full registration with the United Kingdom General Medical Council (GMC) if dually qualified.
- Other relevant postgraduate qualifications, such as in Oral Medicine or Medical Leadership.
- Lead role in delivery of quality improvement initiatives.
- Research experience relevant to Oral Medicine.
