As a key member of our risk management team, you will work closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer and Business Unit leaders to deliver functional and thematic reviews throughout the year. Your primary objective will be to provide a robust second line of defense, ensuring that our risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance framework keeps pace with our growth and remains robust, proportionate, and commercially pragmatic.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver risk-based Quality Control Reviews (QCRs) across business units and functions within the Nexus Group, adhering to agreed timeframes and the annual monitoring plan.
  • Identify issues and implement remedial measures in collaboration with the CUO, GRCO, business unit leaders, and claims handlers, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Draft and issue final written QCR reports to the GRCO, CUO, COO, Business Unit managers, Executive Committee, and Product Oversight & Governance Committee, as appropriate.
  • Interact with global, regional, and local product and business management throughout all phases of the QCR review, including follow-up on identified issues.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensure that new and emerging risks are reflected in compliance monitoring activities.
  • Identify recurring concerns and proactively recommend thematic reviews as required.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Group's risk management, regulatory compliance, and quality framework.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in an assurance, compliance monitoring, risk management, or similar role.
  • Demonstrably strong understanding of the insurance market.
  • Underwriting or claims handling experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, handling a wide range of subject matter and business operations, both autonomously and as a team member.
