Building Surveyor Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our client, a Housing Association, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys to improve the energy performance of the association's stock in South Devon.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct stock condition surveys to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for energy efficiency measures.
  2. Arrange and undertake energy performance surveys and assessments, working with contractors to deliver energy improvement works.
  3. Review the lifecycle of building components, such as windows, doors, kitchens, and bathrooms, and develop plans for renewal and replacement.
  4. Undertake risk assessments in accordance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
  5. Prepare work specifications and schedules, liaising with contractors and arranging for works to be carried out in accordance with CDM regulations.
  6. Identify and issue party wall and other notices as required.
  7. Responsible for identifying asbestos and organizing its removal in both void and tenanted properties.
  8. Certify interim and final accounts in respect of contracts/works under supervision in accordance with approved Financial Regulations.
  9. Liaise and communicate with tenants, tenant groups, leaseholders, and tenant associations to ensure high customer satisfaction returns.
