About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at The Sheffield College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who experience barriers in their learning, providing individualized support to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the assessment and planning of individual learning support needs and plans
  • Deliver learning support in the learning environment, including classrooms, workshops, and learning resource centers
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize your own work within established routines and procedures
  • Be responsive to student requests for assistance with equipment, including IT hardware and software
  • Work as part of a team, taking independent action when necessary
Requirements
  • Good standard of education to Level 3, with a minimum of Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills
  • Prior work experience or knowledge gained in a similar role, with students, or in the specific area may be required
  • Ability to determine work priorities and those of colleagues
  • Thorough knowledge of learning support processes and working practices, with a good understanding of how these relate to the wider College
