In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of customer goods throughout the city. You'll also play a vital part in ensuring smooth warehouse operations by assisting with shipment processing in the evenings.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and collect customer shipments promptly and professionally, maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Verify consignment details at pickup and delivery, reporting any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Meticulously record Proof of Delivery (POD) information and capture photographic evidence for each shipment.
  • Contribute to the Operations team during evening shifts by weighing packages, preparing shipments, processing data, and applying labels.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through courteous and professional interactions.
  • Coordinate deliveries with wholesale agents according to established cut-off times.
  • Ensure all shipments are accounted for at the end of each day, promptly notifying your supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate effectively with the transport and operations teams to optimize daily delivery efficiency.
  • Unload vehicle upon arrival at the warehouse, sort shipments according to destination and service type.
  • Maintain a clean and organized van by completing a vehicle checklist weekly.
  • Adhere to company dress code by wearing the provided uniform and maintaining a neat and presentable appearance.
  • Prioritize safe driving practices, minimizing traffic violations, fines, and accidents while promptly reporting any incidents.

Requirements:

  • Excellent physical fitness as some manual work and lifting will be required.
  • Proven experience driving in London and meeting tight deadlines is essential.
  • Valid UK Driving License with no more than 3 points.
  • Confidence and experience operating a short wheel-base van or similar vehicle.
  • Previous courier operations experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demonstrating pride in your work attire.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear command of the English language.
  • Clear criminal record and verifiable references.
  • Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, and a stable work history.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and adhere to company procedures.
  • Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude towards your responsibilities.
