Senior Public Health Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Public Health Manager to lead our Accommodation Services Team in County Durham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the operational delivery of our Specialist Stop Smoking Service, ensuring high-quality contract performance, and driving service innovation and development.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Public Health, with experience in managing services and delivery teams. You will be a passionate and proactive leader, with excellent people management skills and the ability to motivate and engage delivery teams to achieve the highest standards and outcomes.
You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of Health and Social Care professionals, Business Intelligence, Service Development, Governance, Finance, and Business Development specialists to support the delivery of our services.
This is a senior role working under the management of our Senior Operational Team, and you will support the Head of Service in reporting to our monthly performance board.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the operational delivery of our Specialist Stop Smoking Service in County Durham.
- Ensure high-quality contract performance across all key elements, including effective reporting and budget management.
- Drive service innovation and development, working closely with our multi-disciplinary team to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and motivate delivery teams to achieve the highest standards and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain internal standard operating procedures, and establish and update referral routes into and out of the service.
- Ensure the safeguarding of adults and children is paramount for all staff, and that they act accordingly within our policy and procedures.
- Ensure that risk assessments, risk registers, and cases are prioritized following safeguarding protocols.
- Deliver an outcomes-based service delivery model, achieving and exceeding KPIs, and ensuring effective allocation of resources and responsiveness to service user, partner, and commissioner feedback.
- At least 3 years of experience in Public Health-related field.
- Proven experience in team leadership, maintenance of effective professional boundaries, and service adherence to organizational policy and procedure.
- Excellent people management skills and a compassionate leader, with demonstrated motivational interviewing skills and experience in performance management.
- Experience of supporting day-to-day operational demands in a performance-focused environment, supporting the Head of Service to lead and direct a senior delivery team.
- Experience in managing risk, case notes, and data analysis to inform areas of development.
- Experience within a commissioning environment, including GP Practices, Primary Care, Secondary Care, Schools and Colleges, VCFSE Sector, Social Care, Community Health, CAMHS, and other relevant sectors.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with the use of Microsoft Office packages and databases.
- Knowledge of safeguarding in a community health setting, and demonstrable experience and knowledge of techniques for community health engagement and Asset-Based Community Development.
- Ability to recruit, induct, and support volunteers to the service.
