Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Assistant Head Cook to join our team at University Hospital Ayr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise a team of staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective catering services to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Organize staff duty rotas, including leave and in-house training, to ensure seamless operations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout all Catering Departments, including the main kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure clear direction and guidance to staff.

Requirements:

• Experience in large-scale catering, preferably within the NHS, with a City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or an SVQ/NVQ qualification.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A degree of flexibility to cover shifts, including weekends, between 0630 and 1900 hours.

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 days, with flexibility to cover shifts.
