We invite you to join our dynamic team as a Metal Fabrication Specialist, where your expertise and commitment will play a pivotal role in crafting high-quality components. You will engage in a fast-paced environment, employing state-of-the-art welding technology and methodologies. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who possesses a passion for metalworking and fabrication and is keen to contribute to a collaborative and innovative team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Control: Aim for the highest standards in the assembly and welding of parts.
  • Equipment Mastery: Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing all welding apparatus within the Fabrication Workshop.
  • Production Management: Follow the established production timeline, identifying and resolving any critical issues that may impede daily objectives.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Analyze welding procedures, engineering schematics, sketches, materials, and digital images to pinpoint the most efficient and cost-effective methods without compromising quality or safety.
  • Health & Safety Reporting: Report any health, safety, and environmental concerns or productivity challenges through the appropriate channels.
  • Traceability & Materials: Ensure welder traceability and maintain records of consumable serial numbers. Adhere to established protocols for managing welding supplies.
  • Accurate Documentation: Complete work logs accurately on the electronic timekeeping system and submit them to the Cell Leader upon task completion.
  • Workplace Organization: Uphold cleanliness in the production area and manage material movements in accordance with safe working practices. Minimize waste through efficient use and disposal of raw materials and consumables.
  • Continuous Development: Inform the Fabrication Lead of any necessary adjustments to drawings or bills of materials. Contribute to the enhancement of systems and improvements in operational practices.
  • Preventive Care: Perform regular preventive maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions to the Cell Leader as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in fabrication and welding (mandatory).
  • National Certificate in a relevant discipline (preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience in a fabrication workshop (mandatory).
  • Coded to 3G welding standard (preferred).
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Competence in operating basic hand tools (mandatory).
  • Possession of overhead crane and forklift certification (preferred).
