About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with varying needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver differentiated lessons and activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals as required.
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources, ensuring a stimulating learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student development.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
