AWE's support for the government's strategy takes many facets: from supporting the weapon programme for the nuclear deterrent, supporting the UK's counter terrorist programme, identifying where there may be nuclear tests taking place around the world, and building an expert group of individuals in order to give the UK real depth in nuclear science and technology.

About the Year in Industry:

This is a new position specifically created for university students undertaking a 12-month placement, who will join our Nuclear Safety assessment area.

As a nuclear safety case assessor, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating risks associated with nuclear safety, working closely with our team of experts to ensure the safe delivery of our mission.

What You'll Gain:

This placement will provide you with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nuclear safety assessment, working on real-world projects and developing your skills in risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation.

You will also have the chance to work with a team of experienced professionals, learn from their expertise, and contribute to the development of our nuclear safety programme.
