About the Role:

We are looking for a support assistant to work alongside the class teacher in supporting children with their learning. The ideal candidate will have a calm and reassuring nature, a positive attitude, and a flexible and enthusiastic approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the class teacher to provide support to children with additional needs
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils while they undertake their work and ensure a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom in the correct way, ensuring safeguarding procedures are always adhered to
  • Carry out small group work and work with children with additional needs
  • Report any safeguarding concerns using the school's referral procedures and safeguarding policies
