About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Director to join our team at Tokamak Energy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the group financial control function and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop and enforce a robust internal control environment to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and manage statutory reporting requirements, including annual audits and recommendations.
  • Manage and update group accounting policies and maintain accurate and complete books of account.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and enhancement of financial systems and processes to deliver first-class financial operations and reporting.
  • Define and manage standard, efficient, and timely month-end and year-end processes.
  • Own the group's cash management, adhering to agreed controls and strategies in the group's treasury policy.
  • Manage group tax compliance and submissions globally, including payroll taxes, VAT, US sales taxes, corporation/income taxes, and withholding taxes.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial and tax regulations and ensure the company's compliance with them.
  • Provide input and support to the FP&A team for business planning and ad hoc projects.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with significant industry experience and a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Strong technical accounting background/knowledge (IFRS).
  • Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
  • Knowledge and direct working experience of business taxes and compliance, ideally in an international and/or group environment.
  • Experience of preparing and submitting claims under the UK R&D tax credit scheme would be desirable.
  • Cashflow, banking, and treasury management skills.
  • Track record of internal control and process development.
  • Experience in accounting software & ERP packages (ideally MS Business Central or Dynamics).
  • Work with integrity, delivery focus, and accountability.
