About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in the energy sector. As a key member of our energy infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and lead significant elements of the detailed design, including drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations, to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
  • Work in both supervised and unsupervised environments, ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and delivered in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and current Health and Safety (H&S) legislation requirements.
  • Ensure that solutions meet client needs and that expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Work in close collaboration with team members of other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced employees and assist in the mentoring and development of colleagues.
  • Liaise with clients and supervise works on site when required.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree (or other suitable qualification and associated experience) and either have or be close to achieving a relevant professional qualification.
  • Strong experience of design software packages and a sound understanding of their use in the design process for Building Information Modelling (BIM).
  • Experience of undertaking design, particularly of steel and concrete structures.
  • Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience of statutory or third-party approvals.
  • Good organisational and stakeholder management skills required to support multiple live projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in the energy sector (advantageous but not mandatory).
  • A sound understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to ensure Safety by Design best practices are achieved.
  • A good all-round understanding of quality management systems and processes.
