Omega is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental management across our operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Quality Policies: Organize and implement quality, health, safety, and environmental policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead by Example: Provide active, visible leadership for all quality, health, safety, and environmental matters, setting a positive example for the team.
- Embed Industry Standards: Ensure the requirements of relevant industry standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, are implemented and measured through auditing and continuous improvement activities.
- Advise and Assist: Advise and assist in the development and maintenance of safe systems of work and relevant records associated with evidencing compliance with legislation.
- Support Risk Assessments: Provide support in developing risk assessments and method statements, including training personnel.
- Measure Performance: Measure quality, health, safety, and environmental performance, using results to benchmark minimum standards within the company and from our supply chain partners.
- Foster a Culture of Excellence: Foster a high standard of quality, safety, and environmental awareness culture by ensuring worker engagement with our organization's values and principles.
- Prepare Evidence: Prepare quality, health, safety, and environmental evidence for provision to third-party awarding bodies to achieve and maintain our organization's accreditations and awards.
- Support New Projects: Provide health, safety, and environmental information for new project tenders.
- Investigate Incidents: Investigate incidents when required to identify root cause and prevent reoccurrence, sharing lessons learned and good practice throughout the company and with all relevant stakeholders.
- Promote Compliance: Promote and monitor compliance with safety, health, quality, environmental programs, and training initiatives.
- Maintain the IMS: Maintain and develop our organization's Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Travel Requirements: Some UK and overseas travel may be required, which will be fully expensed by the organization.
Authority and Accountability:
- Support the Operations Director: Support the Operations Director for the Modular business and be responsible for his/her Departmental budget.
- Accountable for QC and QA: Be accountable with the operational management to ensure that the QC and QA practices lead to the highest possible quality output within the organization.
- Manage the Team: Manage and develop the skills and capabilities of the team, including workforce and succession planning.
- Drive Change: Drive change within the culture towards a lean manufacturing, process-driven environment.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management experience.
- Auditor Qualification: Auditor qualification leading to lead auditor.
- NEBOSH Certificate: NEBOSH general certificate minimum qualification.
- IEMA Qualification: IEMA Environmental Management qualification.
- Experience in Heavy Manufacturing: Experience of heavy manufacturing and MIG/MAG welding.
- Strong Management Skills: Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with the team, clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party auditors.
- Professional Membership: Membership of a professional body, such as IOSH or similar, would be beneficial.
