Production Engineer Job Description

Futures is seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team in West Yorkshire. As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving manufacturing techniques to reduce cycle times, remove waste, and increase quality and repeatability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Design and develop tooling aids to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work closely with the quality, production, maintenance, and design departments to ensure seamless communication and resolve production engineering queries.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce machine downtime.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce lead times, improve tooling, and enhance staff performance.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in production engineering, including layout, continuous flow, SMED, CAPEX, planning, capacity modeling, and costing.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, with Six Sigma training preferred.
  • HND/Degree qualification in Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Proven track record of working in high-volume manufacturing environments, including plastic, glass, electronics, food, and automotive sectors.
