We are seeking a Lead Purchasing Coordinator to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will be innovative, motivated, and excel in a high-energy setting. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance the performance of the Softs Wovens division at boohoo group. This entails consistently monitoring the essential timeline to guarantee that departmental objectives and deliveries are achieved punctually and align with the brand's vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a Business Assistant Administrator on critical timelines and operational management to ensure departmental goals are met and deliveries are timely.
  • Taking charge of fitting sessions and implementing fit feedback directly with suppliers.
  • Negotiating pricing to secure optimal costs and meet departmental budgetary requirements.
  • Comprehending open cost structures, including fabric pricing, consumption, and implications of fit adjustments.
  • Assembling the final approval documentation with assistance from the Buyer.
  • Participating in supplier discussions to foster new developments and address any production issues.
  • Contributing to category development to support the Buyer in building a comprehensive range.
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing the Business Assistant Administrator and their training.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of the marketplace, target audience, and key competitors.
  • Engaging in weekly trading meetings with insights on how to respond to departmental performance.
  • Interpreting and reacting to daily trading analytics.
  • Conducting weekly competitive analysis and assisting the Business Assistant Administrator in compiling the competitive report for management.
  • Collaborating closely with the Buyer and garment technicians to address high-return items.
  • Contributing to product development with an awareness of departmental successes, failures, and seasonal trends.
  • Generating innovative ideas to support departmental strategies through product offerings, visual merchandising, and studio initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience in fashion purchasing, either as an Assistant Buyer or Buyers Admin Assistant.
  • Ability to manage your workload efficiently, demonstrating initiative in decision-making.
  • Approachable demeanor towards team members and external partners, serving as a role model for junior staff.
  • Receptive to feedback and willing to adjust communication styles to enhance interactions with senior management.
  • A proactive learner, consistently seeking to expand knowledge about the industry and the company.
  • Highly adaptable, able to pivot in response to business needs.
  • Effective in delegating and sharing responsibilities within the team.
  • Proficient at identifying trends and commercial opportunities for the business.
