Role Summary

We are seeking a full-time consultant with a robust background in power system analysis to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work autonomously within a collaborative environment, contributing to a diverse array of technical and strategic consultancy projects. TNEI offers a stimulating work atmosphere within a rapidly evolving sector, focusing on impactful energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct grid impact assessments and ensure compliance with grid codes for energy generation projects.
  • Perform power quality evaluations and investigations.
  • Engage in transmission and distribution network planning.
  • Oversee project management, including financial and resource allocation.
  • Foster relationships with existing clients while identifying and engaging potential new clients.

Qualifications

Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Progress towards registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Desirable:
  • Postgraduate degree in engineering.
  • Experience in the design or review of overhead lines, substations, or renewable energy plants.
  • Familiarity with network modeling and analysis software.
  • Knowledge of the South African energy landscape and regulatory frameworks.
