Job Overview
Tarmac is seeking a skilled Mobile Fitter Maintenance Specialist to join our team at our Stoke Dry Silo Mortar Plant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mobile equipment, including fault finding and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to sites in a company-provided van, with expenses covered in line with company policy
- Perform mechanical and manual labor, including fault finding and maintenance of mobile silos
- Conduct PAT testing of portable appliances and demonstrate competences in fault diagnosis
- Work with hand tools and have previous training in adopting correct manual handling techniques
- Use electronic technology, including applications and emails, to ensure efficient communication and documentation
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in line with company Health and Safety policies
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the van and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ensure plant equipment is maintained to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Ensure mobile silos are supplied to customers in a safe working condition
- Assist in maintaining production levels by supporting online and mobile plant
- Maintain van stock levels and contribute to a zero-incident H&S site
- Reduce breakdowns and perform planned preventative maintenance visits
- Implement a structured approach to fault finding and maintenance
- Improve site production and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Engineering background
- Experience working in the construction industry
- Knowledge of gearboxes, motors, and pumps
- Understanding of LOTOTO (Isolation of Plant and Equipment)
- Ability to operate machinery on plant to required standards
- Minimum Level 1 Welding
- Time served Fitter
- IEE 17th Edition qualified (desirable but not essential)
