  • Possess extensive knowledge of the application landscape within the technology ecosystem, including:
    • Application Development: Expertise in modern application architecture and collaboration with delivery teams.
    • Infrastructure: Experience in designing solutions across diverse infrastructure environments, including physical, virtual, and cloud.
    • Data Management: Solid grasp of data principles, including lineage and integrity.
    • Security: Strong understanding of security protocols to ensure the protection of technology solutions.
  • Experience in implementing automation within IT Asset Management (ITAM) or DevOps environments is advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
    • Application Development: Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
    • DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD processes, pipelines, YAML, and version control systems like GitLab or GitHub.

Purpose of the Position

The purpose of this role is to establish direction and architect solutions for the bank's most intricate IT systems and platforms, utilizing industry-leading methodologies to address complex functional and non-functional requirements.

Accountabilities
  • Define the strategic architectural direction for specialized technology areas, such as trading platform development.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise in designing and assessing complex technology architectures, while mentoring solution architects to foster continuous learning within the architecture community.
  • Manage innovative design and engineering initiatives, collaborating with technical experts to tackle complex challenges that align with the bank's technology strategy.
  • Develop and uphold architectural standards, guidelines, and governance policies to ensure quality and compliance, mitigating risks such as breaches and regulatory violations.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and innovations that may impact the bank, implementing solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • Maintain advisory relationships with business partners, architects, and engineering teams to drive successful design and engineering outcomes.
  • Advocate for optimal solutions that meet the bank's technological needs through effective communication to support architectural decisions.
  • Support initiatives within the engineering and architecture community to mentor team members and enhance operational efficiency.
