Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant (KS4)

Location: South Shields

Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an all-through school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs, possessing a calm, inviting, and friendly nature to build strong bonds with them.

The school offers personalized learning programs to cater to individual needs, promoting academic and social growth. They believe in leading the way to a brighter future for all their pupils.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • A good understanding of EHCPs.
  • The ability to assist in lessons and activities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
